The Outlaws

Born on Valentine’s Day of 2008 and the offspring of Annabelle and Tenzing, the Outlaw litter consisted of all boys, no girls. All are contenders for a spot on the 2010 Iditarod team.

Luna, a new mother of one (Belle Starr) seemed to believe Annabelle was unfit to care for 7 pups and managed to steal all but the James/Younger gang from Annabelle and raise them as her own.

The James / Younger Gang:
These boys are all white and almost impossible to tell apart except for some very slight physical traits and eating habits. Eager to give any passer by a hug, Jesse is very affectionate. Both very healthy eaters, Younger and Frank will clean their dog dishes in two bites, and then do their best to convince you that they were overlooked during the feeding chores. Frank takes it one step further and takes to stealing his neighbors’ dishes and stores them in his house; our best guess he thinks he’ll get more food if he has more food dishes.

Wyatt
As in Earp, Wyatt learned everything he needed to know about being a dog from Rowdy. He is very tender hearted, good natured, and the most sensitive of the band of Outlaws.

Pancho & Lefty
Taking after his father in both looks and personality, Pancho is tall and leggy, he loves to run and loves attention. The tallest dog in the kennel, rather than jumping onto his house like the rest of the dogs he climbs on his house. Pancho is a pick-pocket by nature often searching the pockets of any passersby.

If you have a Pancho, you have to have a Lefty. Lefty was easy enough to name---all white with a black spot that encompasses his left ear. He is a wild one! He loves new gloves or mittens. He can spot them from a mile away and waits for his chance to steal them off your hand.

Doc
Partly named after Doc Holiday and partly named after Rebecca’s former boss, Jeff’s old golden retriever, Doc. He started life as the runt of the litter, but has grown to be one of the tallest in his litter.

Belle Starr
Born February 7, 2008, this girl is the only pup born in her litter. She is little. She is small. She is tiny, and, raised with 7 boy pups from the Outlaw litter she is nothing but tough. You can’t have a band of outlaws without a Belle Star. Luna has taken it upon herself to train Belle Star as her Queen Bee successor.

Song: Belle Starr by Emmy Lou Harris and Mark Knophler

Position: in trouble, pet
